79th Monroe Invitational Championship
Participant Rules and Information

Amateur Status: All players must conform to the USGA Rules of Amateur Status as set forth in 

Registration: Player must register by 12:00pm on Tuesday, June 11th. The Registration Desk is located in the “Vista” Ballroom of the clubhouse.  Registration area will be staffed Monday, June 10th from 10:00am until 5:00pm.  Late registration will be available from 8:00am until noon in the Pro Shop. If you cannot register at the above times, you may forfeit your position in the tournament.

Dress Code: Shorts will not be allowed beginning with the first round of the Championship (Wednesday). Shorts are permissible for the MIC Blitz Event and other practice time on the course. Proper collared shirts are required during all phases of the Tournament including all practice. The Monroe Golf Club has a policy of no denim at any time* 

Cell Phone Policy: “The use of cell phones (outside of emergency calls) anywhere on club property is restricted to the Men’s & Ladies Locker Rooms, all Parking Lots, the West End of the Vista Patio (between the clubhouse and the pool), in meeting rooms by privately booked events (with the Event Coordinator’s approval) and with the utmost discretion on the golf course.
Cell phones must be set in “vibrate or silent” (not ringing) mode for incoming calls or messages of any kind. Any use of the picture-taking capability of cell phones or PDA’s is prohibited on club property.

Golf Balls; Driver Heads: Only brands of golf balls on the most current USGA List of Conforming Golf Balls and driver heads on the most current USGA List of Conforming Driver Heads may be used. The "One-Ball Rule" will be in effect.

Footwear: It is a condition of the competition that shoes with metal spikes are prohibited. Penalty for breach of the condition is Disqualification.

Distance Measuring Devices: Rangefinders or other distance measuring devices are approved for use during the competitive rounds.

Practice: Monroe Golf Club will be available for practice commencing Monday at 12:00 noon. You must register with the Pro Shop before beginning play. Those players not in the MIC Blitz may tee off in an 8:45am shotgun on Tuesday morning.

Range balls: are included in the entry fee.

The MIC Blitz: The top 50-60 players are required to play in the MIC Blitz Event on Tuesday, June 11th.  All MIC Blitz players are required to attend the luncheon at 12:00 pm sharp to meet your playing partners. The Blitz is a shotgun start at 1:30 pm, Blitz event participants will be identified 

MIC Blitz Dinner: The Blitz dinner starts at 6:30 pm and is required attendance for all MIC Blitz players.

Starting Times:  Wednesday and Thursdays’ pairing and starting times will be available by 5:00 pm on Tuesday, June 11th. Friday's and Saturday's times will be available by 7:00 pm the night before.  Starting times will also be posted on the MIC web site. 

Host Housing:  The Housing Committee will attempt to accommodate only players who have requested housing. You must indicate your housing requirements when you complete your application! You will be notified shortly before the competition of your hosts’ name, address, and phone number. The housing committee reminds the players that the housing duration is considered to be Tuesday thru Friday with a Saturday PM departure. Again, this Host Housing is for players only and not intended for additional individuals.

Meals: The following meals are included with your entry fee: continental breakfast and lunch each day Tuesday through Saturday (Players only), MIC dinner and Thursday night Cookout following the Long Drive Championship. Player family, friends, and/or caddies are welcome to participate in the Breakfast, Luncheon buffet for a daily fee (cash only please). The Turn Bar and the Pool Snack Bar are also available on an a la carte basis.

Withdrawal: If an entrant withdraws prior to June 1st for any reason, a $25 handling fee will be withheld from their entry fee. If an entrant withdraws after June 1st. there will be no refund. If a player needs to withdraw to accept an invitation to the U.S. Open, their entry fee will be refunded. 

 * On an exception basis, Denim jeans, shorts and shirts will be allowed for the Thursday night Cookout during MIC week.
